After seeing this title, you may be thinking of the common brand of vacuum cleaner. Then again, you might not. Just so that everyone is clear about this, I AM NOT DOING A REVIEW ON HOOVERS. Yes, thats right. I’m not. What a disappointment. No, dyson is a real-time strategy game based in an asteroid belt. You are in control of one asteroid at the beginning, and you have to send ‘Seedlings’ (which look like flying ants to me) to the other asteroids around yours. The seedlings grow on ‘Dyson trees’, and there are also defense trees which, incidentally, defend your asteroid. I am probably not explaining this very well. Why not check out the video that i made below, once revver sort themselves out.

The power of the internet offers anyone the chance to make extra money. Here’s 10 great ways, not all of which are too boring, to do this.

1. Affiliate/Advertisement Networks - If you have a website or blog, one of the best ways to make money is to use ad networks. These pay you either for the amount of times an ad has been viewed or every time it is clicked depending on it’s type. One of the most popular networks is Google Adsense although I personally prefer Adbrite.
2. External Link Advertisements - Another great way of using advertising to earn money is to put advertisements on links to external websites. This can be acheived with LinkBucks, a free service that allows you to place ads on external links. You can choose from either having a full page ad displayed for about 15 seconds before the visitor is taken to the website, a banner at the top of the website, or a pop-up ad when the link is clicked. Even if you don’t have a website or blog, you still can use this method with e-mail and IM.
3. Social Networking - If you enjoy social networking, one of the best and most fun ways to make money online is to use a free social network which pays you to use it. My personal favourite is Yuwie, where you get paid just for people looking at your profile! You also get pais when you upload photos and refer people to their site.
4. Paid Surveys - Paid surveys are a great way to make cash, but as long as you’re prepared to spend hours typing info about yourself. My personal favourite is Ciao Surveys who offer good surveys and rewards of up to £3. Another popular alternative is YouGov. If you have found another alternative, be careful as some are scams.
5. Paid Blogging - If you enjoy blogging, services like PayPerPost offer you money for your hard work. I have never used this service myself, but it seems quite rewarding.

6. Stock Photography - If you are good at photography, you may be interested to know that you can earn money from your photographs using websites like Fotolia . Visitors pay to download or order your photo and if it’s popular, it can get you some good money.
7. e-Auctions - If you have loads of old stuff piled up in the garage or loft, a great way to earn extra cash is to sell it all off on the internet. With the likes of eBay and eBid, you can do two things - get rid of stuff you don’t need and earn money!
8. Review Products - Just got the latest smartphone? Then go and review it! Websites like Ciao pay you every time a review you write is rated as helpful (or better) by the community. This then earns you and the website money, and gives the visitor a good review of a product - so everyone’s happy
9. Make videos - This is one of the best ways of making money online. Video websites such as Revver and Metacafe will pay you money when ads are viewed/clicked on one of your videos. My personal favourite is Revver as you can also customise the video player with your own colours and logo (It’s what we use on this website!).
10. Ask for it! - This process is called “cyberbegging”, and describes someone setting up a website just to ask for money or donations. The best example of this is Karyn Bosnak, a TV Presenter. One day she realised she had a $20,000 debt and decided to set up a website to help pay it off. In summer 2002, she registered the domain name “savekaryn.com”  and asked people to give her money. An early version of the site began with the plea “WANTED: $20,000. CREDIT CARDS ARE BAD. Hello! My name is Karyn, I’m really nice and I’m asking for your help! You see, I have this huge credit card debt and I need $20,000 to pay it off. So if you have an extra buck or two, please send it my way… Together we can banish credit card debt from my life.”
